Rev. R DX AP R RX SLS / AN R X On the right, Roger II standing facing, wearing loros and Byzantine style crown with pendilia, holding globus cruciger in his left hand; on the left, Roger III standing facing, in military attire, bowing his head to his father, placing his right hand on hilt of his sword; both holding between them long patriarchal cross. MEC 14, 212. Spahr 72. Travaini, Monetazione, 241. Beautifully toned and exceptionally well struck, a wonderful piece. Light scratches and with minor traces of mounting on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
